What is meant by "Suggest a Link"?

You are welcome to participate in the improvement of our information system.

If

• your institution is educational, or has an educational focus,
• you as a person are active in an area of education,
• you are organising an event or a competition,
• you offer an employment in an educational area, or seek employment yourself,
• you provide a web based information service (web site, data base, full text) with obvious relation to education

or if you are aware of any of these services, you can enter these into our data bases.

The following data bases are available:

Online resources
This data base compiles various kinds of web based information resources which either contain information about the German education system or can be used as teaching material (from pre-school education to adult further education). These include simple web sites, data bases, and full texts (e.g. articles, legal acts, statistics, scientific publications, journals and brochures).
Software providers are welcome to contact the SODIS data base for new media at school. A web form for entering links into this data base is available here. The contents of this data base can be accessed via the data base "Bildungsmedien", which is provided on the Eduserver by the co-operation partner FWU.
Publications from the area of education and research in education can also be suggested to the bibliographical data base FIS Bildung.
The data base Education Systems International reports online information on other countries. No self entry form is available for this data base, but you may send suggestions to the editors.

Institutions
The institutions data base compiles organisations, unions, associations and educational institutes, foundations and publishers, etc. that either relate to the education system in Germany, or offer useful advice for educational practice.

Schools offering web sites of their own
Schools can register their web sites with our Schulweb, where they can also enter teaching resources.

Persons
Individual persons active in education or educational research may register in the "Who is who" data base, where you can only register entries concerning yourself. Each entry into the web form produces a registration receipt, which you are required to sign, and send to us by post or fax.

Calendar of events:
You can enter events, work shops, congresses, fairs and conferences into our calendar of events. This web form is also available in French and English.

Competitions
You can enter competitions for relevant target groups (teachers, students, pupils) here, any other kind of target group is relevant provided it is related to an educational area.

Jobs in Education: employment wanted / situations vacant
This data base pertains to persons offering and seeking employment in education and educational research. The whole range of jobs, from university lecturers to training placements, is included.

Checking provisions

Your entry does not immediately appear in the desired Eduserver data base. It is initially saved in an "entry" basket, and then checked by the editors. The editors decide whether the entry is relevant to the Eduserver profile, there is no legal claim to an entry into our data bases. The editors reserve their right to delete entries, or to enter the information into a data base other than the one suggested by you. Moreover, the entries are edited and adapted to the needs of our information systems if this is necessary. We endeavour to process entries as soon as possible. Nevertheless it may take some time before an item is finally entered into our data bases depending on the quantity of resources.

Criteria for Selection

The following items are not entered into our data bases:

• entries with no educational aspect at all,
• entries where no provider is labelled,
• entries that only serve advertisement purposes,
• web sites that are not freely accessible, for instance when immediate costs are involved for the user,
• entries with barely any information at all

Corrections and Deletions

The deletion of entries is only possible by the Eduserver editors. Please contact the responsible editor or our central office in case you would like your entry to be deleted, and name the data base, and the title or number of the entry in question. Besides contacting the editors, you can make corrections to your entries the following way: At the bottom of the entry you can activate the button "Eintrag ändern" (alter entry), and thus re-open the entry form for alterations. The altered entry is again checked by the editors.
